Colby walked into the office with a whole crew of folks dressed in black, and they weren't just any folks—they were flown in from overseas for this.
“Wow! Colby's really pulling out all the stops!”
Adler never saw this coming. Who knew Colby had this up his sleeve?
A few guys in suits strolled in and said, “Ma'am, Mr. Colby sent us to help with whatever you need around here.”
Before long, Colby made his way to Sophie and said, “Let them handle the workload; they're pros from abroad. Some projects are time-sensitive. We'll handle the crucial ones, and they can take care of the rest.”
“If I'd known you had backup lined up, we wouldn't have spent an hour sweating over the small stuff.”
Odie shut the file with a snap, stood up, and said to Jonah, “Jonah, let's roll.”
“Yes, Mr. Odie.”
Jonah followed Odie's lead.
Sophie called out to Odie, “We're supposed to have dinner tonight. Where are you off to now?”
“I just finished setting up my new place in Devonport. Gotta swing by the Aldridge family home to pick up a few things.”
The room fell silent when Odie mentioned the Aldridge family.
During Sophie's month-long stay in the hospital, no one really talked about the Aldridge family.
Even though Sophie didn't say much, everyone could sense something was off with her.
Odie looked at Sophie, “You coming?”
Sophie met Odie's gaze. It was an invitation, a chance to head back to the Aldridge Estate.
Truth be told, Colby had already arranged to have her things packed up from the Aldridge place.
There wasn't really any need to go back.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
