Kena motioned for Sophie and Colby to sit down. "I know you both just got off a flight," she said, "so I had breakfast ready for us. Let's chat while we eat."
"Sounds perfect."
A maid came down the stairs, handing a folder to Kena. "Miss, here are the papers you asked for."
Kena nodded, passing the folder to Sophie. "These are the documents you mentioned on the phone. I sifted through them and think they include what you’re after."
"Thanks for going out of your way."
"No trouble at all. If it weren't for you, Ms. Sophie, I'd still be just a maid at the Mintons'. You showed me how to take charge of my life. I’ll always remember that."
"You made the choice yourself. No need to thank me."
"You say that, but without your guidance, I wouldn’t be running the Gibbs estate today."
Kena had picked up a lot from working with Odie, which now helped her manage the Gibbs estate so smoothly. With Odie in a bind, she couldn’t just stand by.
Sophie opened the folder, finding records of the Gibbs estate’s spending over the years, including their shady dealings and the help they had given to the Mintons. Daniel, sharp as a tack, kept his books crystal clear.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free.
