In the room, Sophie shrugged off her outer layer, exposing a noticeable wound on her shoulder. William leaned in for a closer look and said, “You’ve healed up pretty well.”
“Colby mentioned that too,” Sophie replied.
After giving it another glance, William added, “You could probably have surgery this year. Scar treatment is a process, and considering how bad the injury was, it might be tough to make it perfect. You might end up with a faint scar, but it won't be too obvious.”
“Alright,” Sophie nodded.
As William started packing up his medical kit, Sophie casually asked, “Did you make a special trip just for today?”
“No, I actually got here yesterday…” William paused, then quickly corrected himself, “I took the evening flight and stayed at the hotel overnight.”
“Oh…”
“Why do you ask, Sophie?”
“I noticed you didn’t have any luggage, so I figured you hadn’t just arrived today.”
“…Sophie, you’re pretty sharp.”
The more William thought about it, the more he suspected Sophie was trying to catch him in a lie.
What’s with the folks in Devonport? Why is everyone so sharp?

Then, out of the blue, Sophie asked, “William, did you happen to run into Mr. Gordon while you were abroad?”
Hearing Gordon's name made William’s heart skip a beat.
Whoa! How does she know that?
What’s going on in her head?
Trying to keep his cool, William said, “Of course not!”
The room fell silent for a few moments.
Under Sophie’s steady gaze, William started to squirm: “Really… I didn’t.”
But Sophie’s unyielding stare wore him down.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
