“Mr. Colby, let's not rush things.”
Kiran looked up at Colby, his voice carrying just enough to reach both Colby and Sophie. “The boss sends his regards and wanted me to check how you're feeling.”
Hearing this, Colby's eyes narrowed sharply for a moment.
Suddenly, there was a loud 'bang'—a gunshot. But this time, the bullet didn't hit Kiran.
Quick as a flash, Kiran reacted faster than Colby, grabbing the hand Colby was about to fire with and making the gun discharge into a corner of the room.
“I gave you a pass once, for Sandy's sake, but now... I’m not foolish enough to let you shoot me again.”
Kiran’s eyes still held a cold glint.
Not too far away, Sophie made sure she caught every word.
She swiftly turned to Colby, “Colby! Stop!”
Kiran wasn’t your everyday guy; he was a member of The Silent Shadows and the Pollard family heir too.
If Kiran got killed, that’d be a real mess for them.
“I'd still rather chat with Ms. Sophie. Someone as savvy as Ms. Sophie knows what to do and what not to...”
Before he could finish, Sophie whipped out a gun from her coat and shot at Kiran.
But she purposely missed, the bullet just grazing Kiran's ear, leaving a slight scratch.
Sophie said icily, “What my husband does is exactly what I’d do. It's only out of respect for Caelum and Sandy that I’m not taking you out. I reckon Mr. Angelo understands the situation better than anyone. This time, it’s me sparing you, not the other way around!”
A slight smile crept onto Kiran’s face at Sophie’s words.
“I’ve met plenty of women abroad, but Ms. Sophie, you're a first. Impressive, you've got guts.”

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
