"Because of Reece's call."
When Sophie mentioned this, the three people in front of her paused for a moment. They all knew Reece was Sophie's right-hand man; he had been with her since the early days of S Corporation. You could say he was the one person Sophie trusted the most in the whole company.
Sophie continued, "I was in my room, trying to figure out what The Silent Shadows and Kiran were up to. Even if Colby was hiding something from me, it didn't mean our misunderstandings would keep growing. What if we cleared things up and made up? At that moment, someone needed to step in, pull me away from Colby, and stir things up. Everyone was reaching out, wanting to know what was going on, but only Reece called once. As I answered, I was thinking, 'Please, Reece, don't ask me to go out,' but he did."
"Is that why?"
"Yes."
Sophie explained, "I was suspicious of Reece then, and I couldn't be sure the White family didn't have bugs, so I had to play along and leave their place first. In Reece's car, I wasn't fully trusting him. Last night, I actually had a gun with me."
Odie's face darkened as he said, "Sophie, are you out of your mind? Why didn't you tell us about something so important? And bringing a gun? What if Reece was a traitor?"
"But he wasn't."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
