Facing James' indifference, Nichole was stunned.
Colt had already approached her, saying, “Ms. Nichole, please come upstairs with me to change your outfit.”
Nichole lowered her head, "Okay.”
Just as Nichole had taken a few steps, James suddenly spoke coldly, “Wash off your makeup before coming back down.”
Nichole's heart trembled.
“But…” Nichole began.
“You are a student, and such a mature and flashy makeup doesn’t suit you.”
Hearing James say this made Nichole feel even worse. She had spent so much effort on her makeup. Was it really so inappropriate?
Colt, walking ahead, heard Nichole’s soft query, “Colt, don’t I look good in this dress?”
Colt just glanced back briefly, his tone indifferent, “That dress was prepared by Mr. Burke for his wife.”
Nichole’s face changed upon hearing this. The dress was actually meant for Sophie by James.
“But the doorman clearly said that this dress was delivered for me.”
“That must have been a misunderstanding by the security at the door. You weren’t supposed to be here today.”
Hearing Colt’s distant and cold tone, Nichole felt a surge of humiliation.
Meanwhile, Sophie was at her apartment preparing her resume, when Jenna said, “James wanted you to accompany him to the dinner party. Why didn’t you go? You might even gather some useful information.”

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
