Sophie was protecting May, struggling to keep her balance several times.
The chapel was built in the mountains. Could Wesley have actually prepared to blow up the mountain?
"Retreat! This mountain is going to collapse!"
Rick realized the danger and was about to lead Gordon away when Gordon, looking at Wesley who stood on the platform above and had no intention of leaving, his eyes turned cold and said, "It's too late, the main gate has already been sealed. This is a self-destruct mechanism from a century ago; he wants to go down with us."
"Sir, what do we do now?"
"This is a high mountain, the structure should hold for at least another ten minutes. Even with the self-destruct, it won't collapse so quickly. You guys go, take Wesley's position, there must be a way out."
He had studied Wesley for so long, he knew well that he wasn't Joseph.
He wouldn't foolishly perish together with them. The only possibility was to force them to leave first, then sneak into the escape route and make a comeback.
Beside him, Sophie asked anxiously, "Mr. Gordon, even if we take Wesley's position, we don't know where the escape route is."
"Under the seat."
Gordon said, "The platform he stands on is so high, there must be more to it below."
"Enough talk, I'm going first!"
Odie immediately headed for the platform above, with Griffin following closely: "I'll cover you!"
Harold looked at Gordon uneasily and said, "Bro, I'm going."
"Be careful."
"Okay."
Elodie and Julian exchanged glances and then, in agreement, went to flank.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
