Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1734

Colby gently laid the blanket over Sophie and watched her sleep, his mind wandering. With Jenna and Adler having a baby, he wondered if Sophie secretly wanted one too but hadn’t mentioned it. Sophie was twenty-six now. He'd talked to plenty of doctors who all said having kids earlier was easier on the body. He worried that waiting might not be good for her health.

“Colby, are we there yet?” Sophie mumbled, half-awake, eyes fluttering open.

Colby chuckled softly, “Not yet, but I’ll wake you when we are.”

Sophie murmured something in agreement and drifted back to sleep. The past couple of years had been tough on her, working hard despite supposedly taking a break to relax. Colby tenderly brushed a strand of hair from her face, and she instinctively nestled closer to him.

Outside, the sky was painted with the colors of dusk. As they got off the plane, the sunset welcomed them. Sophie felt a rare peace and beauty she hadn’t felt in ages. Work had often kept her from noticing such stunning sights. Now, she could finally enjoy the world’s wonders again.

On the beach, Colby wheeled their luggage as Sophie admired the ocean and the setting sun, a gentle smile lighting up her face.

“Colby, are we really going to stay here for six months?” she asked.

“Yep,” Colby replied, his eyes never leaving her. “It might be a bit dull though,” he added with a grin.

“Woof! Woof!” Dawn, their dog, barked happily, clearly loving the beach and ready to run wild. Sophie patted Dawn’s head, “Go ahead!”

“Woof!” Dawn bounded joyfully across the sand.
