Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1746

"He can't bear to leave."

Elodie raised an eyebrow, saying, "There's someone in this world he's just not ready to let go of. Even if it meant faking his death and living in the shadows forever, he'd stick by her side. Am I wrong?"

"Go have a look, it's a girl."

Harold had already gotten the news from Gordon over the phone. Gordon had arranged for a top-notch team for the surgery, and he was the first to know when the baby was born. Plus, Gordon had a gift ready for the little one.

Outside the operating room, the newborn had been brought out already. She was wrapped up snugly, so tiny and delicate.

"Oh, she looks like a little mouse," Sandy blurted out without thinking when she saw the baby.

Griffin nodded with a serious expression, "I think so too."

The doctor chuckled, "Newborns always look like this at first; she'll change in a few days."

"I think she's adorable," Odie said, wanting to play with the tiny bundle but worried about messing her up.

"Hold on, where's Colby?"

Odie suddenly realized Colby, who had been standing outside the operating room moments ago, was missing.

"Don't bother looking; he dashed in as soon as the door opened!" Sandy had seen it all clearly.

It was the first time she'd seen her son-in-law rush to his wife's side without even glancing at their newborn daughter.

Sophie, still on the operating table, hadn't woken up yet, her face a bit pale. Colby gently wiped Sophie's forehead, only relaxing once he was sure she was okay.

Colby stepped out of the operating room, saying, "Sophie had already picked the name. She's called Fiona."

Time flies, and life is relentless. They've had so many moments worth cherishing on this journey, be it people or events.

"Fiona... what a lovely name."

With this answer, James smiled and left the hospital. Sandy cooed at Fiona, "Fiona, Fiona, you're such a good girl. Grow up quickly, Auntie will spoil you!"

Soon, a call came in from Jenna. Over at the Aldridge Estate, Jenna and Adler were eagerly shouting into the phone, "Is she born? Is she really here? Let us see her!"

Adler grumbled, "That darn kid, if it weren't for him, we could've been there ourselves!"

That night, all of Devonport knew about the birth of the little princess, destined to be the star of her own romance novel. Fiona, a child whose fate had placed her at the very top right from the start.
