Sophie didn’t get mad at the guy for being rude; instead, she asked with a hint of curiosity, “How do you know my name is Sophie?”

Everyone had just started at this school and were still getting to know each other. Sophie couldn’t remember ever telling this guy her name.
Faced with Sophie’s questioning look, Odie considered several explanations but finally replied, “Why don’t you take a guess?”

Sophie frowned, “You’re nuts!”
Odie leaned on his hand, watching Sophie’s irritated face intently, and said, “Well, tough luck for you. You’ve got a nutcase as your desk buddy now.”
“My brother told me not to talk to strangers, and if you keep this up, I’ll tell the teacher.”
“Tell the teacher? Don’t you have a scarier threat?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, telling the teacher doesn’t scare me.”

Odie watched Sophie struggle to find words, clearly frustrated, and felt a swell of satisfaction.
This was more like it.
Facing this new version of Sophie, who hadn’t yet built up her defenses, he exuded confidence.
“My brother said you’re being a creep. If I don’t tell the teacher, I’ll tell him, and he’ll deal with you.”
“Oh, you mean that sickly guy from the Aldridge family?”
“Don’t you dare talk about my brother like that!”
Sophie stood up, visibly upset.
Instantly, the classroom went silent.
Everyone was looking at Sophie and Odie with curious eyes.
Noticing all the attention, Odie cleared his throat and gently tugged Sophie’s sleeve, “Alright, I take it back. Just sit down, okay?”
“Apologize to my brother.”

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
