Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1834

As Sophie sat there with a jealous pout, Gordon couldn’t help but crack a rare smile.

“What’s got you grinning? If you’ve got feelings for Emmalee, you should’ve told me ages ago! If she’s the one you truly care about, then... well, maybe we should just call off our engagement!”

Sophie’s words tumbled out as Gordon calmly sliced her steak with the precision of a master chef.

“Honestly, you’ve never treated me like your fiancée, always like some kid. You've been acting distant lately. I get it; you want to move on and tie the knot with someone else.”

Her voice wavered with a touch of sadness as she finished.

When Sophie finally looked up, she found Gordon as composed as ever. In the span of those few minutes, he had finished cutting her steak and slid the plate over to her.

“Hey, big brother! Were you even listening to a word I said?”

“Hmm?” Gordon leaned back in his chair, a gentle smile playing on his lips. “I heard it all.”

“Then why aren’t you saying anything? If you want to end the engagement, just be upfront about it!”

“I never said I wanted to end it.”

Sophie blinked, caught off guard by his response. “But just now...”

“Emmalee’s a key partner at Aldridge Global. We were only talking business, and besides...” Gordon sighed, “I don’t recall ever saying I had feelings for her.”

Sophie was left speechless.

Right... he never actually confessed anything about Emmalee. It was all just gossip she overheard and let her imagination run wild with.

“But... wasn’t Emmalee your college classmate? I heard she was really into you back then and everyone thought you two were the campus couple. Didn’t she confess her feelings to you...?”

Sophie’s questions spilled out all at once.

“Yeah, that did happen,” he admitted.
