Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1836

Whoever came up with the idea of morning weddings clearly wasn't a fan of sleep. It’s just plain cruel.

"Right now, you should be more concerned about getting ready than wondering why weddings aren't held at night," Jenna urged.

Sophie had only wiped off her makeup five hours ago, and now she was back in the chair, as the makeup artist worked her magic.

It was Sophie’s big day, but it was Jenna who was buzzing with excitement. She was orchestrating the makeup and hair team like a pro and had even brought in some experts to help block the door.

Once everything was in place, Jenna started checking the sturdiness of Sophie’s bedroom door.

"Jenna, what are you up to?" Sophie asked, puzzled.

"You wouldn’t get it. I’m testing the door's strength. When Gordon comes to pick you up, I’m not letting him just stroll in," Jenna explained.

Sophie frowned. "Jenna, I’m getting married. If you keep Gordon out, how am I supposed to leave?" she protested.

"Uh... I just mean they shouldn’t get in too easily!"

As Jenna peered outside to assess the situation, she spotted a shadowy figure and instinctively moved to close the door. But then Adler’s voice came through: "Jenna! It’s me!"

"You? Why are you only showing up now? I thought you’d be hanging with the groomsmen," Jenna said, opening the door.

Adler stood there, both hands carrying breakfast. "I figured you might not have eaten so early, so I brought your favorite breakfast. There’s also some for Ms. Sophie. Make sure to eat, because you and the bride won’t have time for a proper meal later."
