"Your dad was a big shot overseas, with people from both the underworld and the legit world showing him respect. That was before he met your mom, though." Harold explained, "He cleaned up his act to win over Sophie, but his legendary takeover of the docks is still talked about. Your mom doesn’t really know how intense he was back then. To us guys, he's like a legend."
Fiona mulled this over for a bit and asked, "But I've never seen my dad lift a finger all these years?"
"That's because things are calm around here now, and nothing's really been worth his time." Harold teased, giving Fiona's head a playful nudge. "If you’re really curious about your dad’s glory days, you should ask your godfather."
"Why ask him?" Fiona looked puzzled.
How would her godfather know about her dad's past exploits?
"I reckon your godfather and your dad were love rivals back in the day. He probably did his homework on your dad."
Fiona had a lightbulb moment after hearing Harold’s explanation.
Ah, that makes sense!
Spotting James sipping his drink nearby, Fiona mischievously headed his way.
Alec saw the glint in her eye and tugged at her shirt, "Fiona, what are you scheming now?"
"I want to hear some stories about Dad's past." Fiona shrugged off Alec’s hand and shot back, "Don’t you want to know too?"
"…" Alec did want to know.
Growing up, he had always idolized Colby. Unfortunately, he was born too late to witness Colby's legendary feats overseas.
James glanced at his watch, put out his cigarette, and stood up, "I've got a meeting at the company tomorrow; I'm heading out."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
