The evening had already set in by the time Sophie drove back to the Burke mansion. As expected, Bea was sitting on the sofa, looking rather displeased.

"Grandma Bea, where's James?"

Sophie thought Bea would call James back home, but it seemed like Bea wanted to have a one-on-one talk with her.

"He is still in a meeting. I asked him to come back later."

Sophie smiled and replied, "I thought I shouldn't stay idle, so I went out and found a job."

"Ridiculous!"

Bea was indeed furious. She said coldly, "You are the daughter of the Russell family and James’ wife! You should be aware of your status. How can you just show yourself in public like this? If you go out to work and others find out, what will they think of the Burke family? It would disgrace both our family and yours!"
