James seemed not to hear the latter part of her sentence, his face alight with joy.
Sophie pushed away James' hands. "I'm very tired. You should go back."
"My grandmother is here. Where do you expect me to go?"
During the time Sophie wasn't home, he had already made this bedroom his own.
In this bedroom, there were many traces of Sophie's life. She used to wait for him to return after they first got married, time and again.
James glanced at the bed, not far away, and the implication couldn't be clearer.
Sophie frowned. "I'm not used to sleeping with you."
"I won't touch you. It's just a way to fool Grandma."
Sophie glanced at the bed, then at the sofa, and frowned again. "Then you sleep on the sofa!"
A fleeting look of dejection passed through James' eyes, but he obediently placed a pillow from the bed onto the sofa and found a thin blanket as well.
Sophie returned to the bed, saying, "We'll draw a line tonight. Don't come within three steps of me."
"Okay."
"Apart from in front of Bea, we live our separate lives at all other times and don't meddle in what the other is doing."
"Okay."
James agreed to each condition.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
