Currently, 20% of the shares had been privately transferred from Mr. Burke to his wife. If the couple were to ever split, Burke International would surely face a drastic change.
"It's fine," James remarked as he watched Sophie's departing figure, his eyes darkening. "This is just a high-stakes gamble."
Meanwhile, Sophie wanted to be cautious and returned to Russell Entertainment first to hand over the contract to Tricia.
Tricia glanced at the contract in confusion and asked, "Ms. Sophie, what is this...?"
"Take it to the legal department and have them thoroughly check for any loopholes in the contract."
"Yes, Ms. Sophie."
As Tricia was about to leave, Sophie frowned and said, "Wait a moment."
"Yes?"
"Look into Nichole's background for me, including her academic performance during middle and high school and her personal life as well."
"Of course, Ms. Sophie."
"Alright, you can go now."
"Yes."
After Tricia left, Sophie leaned back in her chair, exhausted.
When she heard someone knocked, she opened her eyes to see Reece standing at the door, saying, "You seem pretty tired today."
"How come you're here?"
Sophie glanced at the time, remembering that Reece was supposed to be on set.
"The shooting wrapped up early, and I saw you coming back to the office, so I came to check on you."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
