Sophie coldly shook off James' hand, saying icily, "Sorry, I can't do that."
The next moment, the grand doors of the Russell Estate were flung open, and a crowd surged in, causing the maids to scatter in fear. Jessica, in particular, hid behind Perry, exclaiming, "Honey! What are we going to do about this?"
James spoke softly, "Sophie, I'm saying this one last time, come with me."
Sophie remained unmoved, leading to a standoff.
Jessica was the first to break down, wailing, "Sophie! I told you to go with Mr. Burke and you wouldn't listen. Why are you so stubborn? Do you really have to push things this far?"
Jessica cried as she slapped her thigh, "Sophie, you are going to ruin this family!"
"Shut up!"
Perry was nearly driven mad by Jessica's incessant nagging. Pointing at James, he bellowed, "The biggest regret of my life was marrying Sophie off to a monster like you. Do you really think you're above the law in Devonport? James, you're far too arrogant."
James glanced coldly at Perry, "In Devonport, my word is the law."
At that moment, applause came from outside. "Well said, 'In Devonport, my word is the law'."
Colby's voice reached everyone's ears, and soon, a group of people armed with tasers entered the Russell Estate, standing in opposition to James' men.
Colby walked in, a smile on his face but his eyes cold as ice.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
