Sophie took a while to recover her composure. "So, you're just playing dirty, aren't you?"
Colby pondered for a moment before replying, "Pretty much."
Sophie was at a loss for words.
Ricardo thought the matter would be settled by offering five billion dollars, but that was only what Ricardo thought.
Colby first extorted money from Ricardo and then planned to settle scores later on. This move was indeed too cunning.
"What are you planning to do next?"
A hint of amusement flashed through Colby's eyes. "Want to know?"
Sophie nodded eagerly, like a pecking chick.
Colby pointed to his cheek and whispered, "Give me a kiss, and I'll tell you."
"Colby!" Sophie's face turned red in an instant.
Colby was so shameless right from the first meeting when he intentionally drove up the auction price to catch her attention, forcing her to approach him for funds.
At first, she didn't think much of it, but now, looking back, it was all Colby's scheme to get to know her!
"Alright, no more teasing." Colby stood up and said, "He slapped you twice. I'll settle the scores with him slowly. The five billion is just the first step. A quick kill might be easy, but a slow torment is far more painful."
Sophie pursed her lips. "Will it be dangerous?"
"For our future, I won't resort to forces we don't need. Don't worry." Colby gently tousled Sophie's hair and said, "It's late. Go back to sleep."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
