"Stop it, boss. I was just joking!" Adler peeked out from the kitchen.
Jenna said, "Colby, I remember you had already transferred your assets from overseas. So, why did you use Adler’s card to buy skincare products for Sophie yesterday? You can’t just exploit him like that."
"That money is reserved for something important and is not to be touched for now."
Jenna rolled her eyes. "All that money! Are you saving it for the wedding or something?"
Colby responded nonchalantly, "Yeah, something like that."
Jenna was taken aback. "Seriously?"
Sophie’s cheeks flushed red, and she immediately grabbed the glass of water and sat down on the couch, saying awkwardly, "I’m hungry, too. When will dinner be ready?"
"It’s almost done! Three people and not a single pair of hands have come to help me!"
"I’ll help!" Jenna immediately raised her hand and rushed into the kitchen.
Adler rolled his eyes to the heavens. "My lady, are you really trying to help? It would be a miracle if you don’t make a mess!"
"Adler! How dare you complain about me? Believe it or not, I’ll twist your ear off!"
"No, no, no, I wouldn’t dare."
Inside the kitchen, Adler and Jenna’s bickering continued.
Sophie sat on the couch stiffly while Colby took a seat not too far from her, maintaining a distance to give Sophie some breathing room.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
