"We can't go on like this; we're only getting further away from the film crew."
Worry filled Sophie's eyes, but James reached out to touch her ankle. Sophie instinctively pulled her foot back. "What are you doing?"
"Let me see your foot."
"It's not necessary..."
"We don't have much time to rest. If the hitmen catch up with us, and I don't know your condition, we're both done for."
Sophie fell silent. She no longer resisted, and James took off her shoe and examined it briefly. Her ankle was a bit swollen and needed immediate attention.
James took out a bottle of arnica oil from his backpack. Sophie frowned, "That doesn't look like something from the crew."
"I brought it myself."
"How did you know it would be needed?"
"You think I'm as inexperienced as you?"
James rubbed the arnica oil on his hands and said in a deep voice, "This might hurt a bit."
"I know. Go ahead."
"Okay."
James quickly massaged and applied the oil to Sophie's ankle. She bit her lip but didn't make a sound of pain.
"If it hurts, just say it."
"It doesn't hurt..."
James looked up at Sophie, who was clearly trying to hide her pain, and secretly applied more pressure.
This time, Sophie inhaled sharply from the pain. "James, are you doing this on purpose?"
"I thought it was numb from the pain. It's good you can still feel it."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
