Odie glanced at Gattlin with a grim expression and commanded, "Go to the safe and bring me my phone."
"Right away, Mr. Odie!" Gattlin replied, clearly intimidated by Sophie's words. He hurried toward the deepest part of the yacht's storage cabin.
Sophie barely gave it a glance.
Thank god there was still a phone on board.
Soon, Gattlin returned, handing Odie's phone to him.
After powering it on, the phone quickly displayed top news alerts. As Sophie had predicted, the incident had made headlines on various media websites, with widespread speculation of a terrorist attack and police involvement in the investigation.
Gattlin swallowed nervously beside them.
If this incident was traced back to Minton International, a company long associated with underworld dealings, it could uncover their operations.
"It was just two mercenaries, and they're already dead. You think I'd be scared?" Odie said as he placed the phone on the table and continued his meal methodically.
"Of course, you're not scared. However, this could still trouble Minton International, forcing you to sacrifice some of your key players to protect yourself," Sophie remarked, glancing at Gattlin.
If her guess was right, Gattlin had brought those mercenaries, and now, he would have to take the fall.
Hearing this, Gattlin shivered. He understood the implication behind Sophie's look.
"I can help you resolve this issue and ensure the safety of your key subordinates," Sophie continued.
"Oh? And how do you propose to help?"

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free.
