Nichole stood up, impatiently saying, "I asked you to investigate Sophie's matter. Have you done it?"
"The executive secretary has looked into it. All that’s known is that Ms. Sophie fell overboard and is missing, presumed dead or alive, and Mr. Burke was also injured."
Nichole said dissatisfiedly, "Isn't this all just what's been on the news? Can't you guys do a more thorough investigation on the island?"
"Well..." Aisha said with difficulty, "The executive secretary isn’t like Mr. Burke's close associate, Colt. He doesn’t have access to any information that's not already online. You should know this as well..."
"Useless!"
Nichole was furious but felt powerless. Though the Freeman family was wealthy, it paled in comparison to the Burke family.
Now that Briggs was not at home, she couldn't mobilize anyone in the household. She had no choice but to rely on herself!
"Prepare the car for me. I'm going to the Burke family."
"Miss, you’re going there again..."
Aisha didn’t know whether she should speak up or not. Nichole had been visiting the Burke family frequently these days, which could lead to gossip.
"What? Are you not listening to me anymore? Hurry up!"
"...Yes."
Aisha left the room.
After getting ready, Nichole took the car to the Burke family’s residence.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
