James probably hadn't expected her to actually cook, so he paused, coffee cup in hand, as his gaze drifted over to her.
Sophie’s face was expressionless. As a wealthy heiress, she had been served by maids all her life and had never needed to step into the kitchen.
In her past life, after marrying James, she had listened to Bea's advice that to win a man's heart, one must first win his stomach. Thus, she, who had never soiled her hands in domestic work, began to try her hand at cooking.
However, in the end, James never even tasted her cooking.
Ultimately, James just loved Nichole more.
When breakfast was ready, and James noticed that there was none for him, he frowned, "Where’s mine?"
"Make it yourself." Sophie didn’t offer him a single smile.
James was visibly annoyed, "Sophie!"
Sophie ignored him, instead tearing into her toast bite by bite.
Since she no longer liked James, she saw no reason to go out of her way to please him.
"I’m done." After eating, Sophie took the plates and cutlery to the kitchen, then grabbed her bag and headed for the door.
James asked, "Where are you going?"
"I have a class this morning."
"Take the day off."
"James, are you sick?"
Sophie had finally had enough. From this morning, James’ behavior had been very strange. First, he gave Marian the day off, then he had her make breakfast, and now he wanted her to take a day off.
After a while, James finally spoke up, "What’s the deal with that piece of land?"
He finally got to the point. Sophie thought James wouldn’t ask.
No wonder he was acting so strange today. It was still all about profit.
Sophie said, "I’ve already sold that land."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
