Sophie stood up, her departure unhindered. Everyone had just witnessed Odie defend Sophie's honor by having Ms. Leticia removed, so no one dared to stop her.
As Sophie made her way to the restroom, she looked around cautiously. Suddenly, a pair of hands emerged from the shadows, pulling her into a secluded hallway.
Before Sophie could scream, a hand covered her mouth.
Taken aback, Sophie recognized the man from the engagement party she'd attended. His face was hidden behind a silver mask, and his body was clad in a sleek black suit.
"Stay still," the man's voice was husky.
Sophie noticed security passing by the hallway they were hidden in; had she not been pulled aside, they would have discovered her.
"This isn't the way to the restroom," Sophie frowned, asking, "Who are you?"
"This place isn't for you. Go back to where you came from," the man's voice was disguised, likely altered by a voice changer.
Sophie glanced at the hand gripping her arm, then swiftly pulled away, saying coolly, "We don't know each other, do we?"
"Yes, we do."
"Then what does my business have to do with you? Why help me?"
The man didn't respond, instead turning to leave.
Sophie quickly noticed a gold card in his hand and blocked his path, asking, "You have a gold card?"
"This? Yes."
"Are you a regular here?"
"You could say that."
"Could you take me upstairs? I'm curious."
Sophie's eyes pleaded with him. She couldn’t discern his expression behind the mask. However, his momentary silence gave her hope.
"Why do you want to go up?"

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
