"Who did this? Was it Odie?"
Gordon's grip on Sophie's wrist tightened. She tried to pull away, but his strength was too much for her.
As Gordon's expression grew colder, Sophie had no choice but to nod. "Mr. Gordon... it's okay..."
"Okay? You call this okay?" Gordon's brow furrowed deeply, his eyes locked onto hers. "Do you realize how dangerous this is?"
Of course Sophie understood. She knew all too well. But what was done was done, and their priority now was to figure out how to deal with it.
"Odie only injected me once, and I think the purity was low."
"Have you had any symptoms yet?"
Even with low purity, a single injection could cause addiction, and that was deadly.
"...I've had one episode, but it wasn’t too bad."
"Ridiculous!" Gordon's voice was filled with anger. "Why didn't you tell me about this immediately?"
Sophie rarely saw Gordon so upset. She quickly pulled her hand back, saying, "I was exhausted last night, I didn’t want to worry you. And... I didn’t want Colby to find out."
If Colby found out, he’d definitely go after Odie. But Summerfield was too dangerous. If they were going to confront Odie, they needed a well-thought-out plan. Acting rashly would only lead to trouble.
Hearing this, Gordon was silent for a moment. He then turned to the butler, "Rick, get the doctor here right away, and keep this under wraps."
"Yes, sir."
Once Rick left, Gordon looked at Sophie, his voice serious. "Come with me."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
