“How could I? It must have been my team's mistake,” Odie said, casting a quick look at Sandy before deliberately taking Vanessa’s hand. “Vanessa and Ms. Sandy are good friends. There’s no way we wouldn’t invite Ms. Sandy to witness our engagement, right, Vanessa?”
Vanessa’s face went pale at his words. She hadn’t expected Odie to dump the problem on her!
Sophie, observing the unfolding drama, took a sip of the champagne Odie had handed her earlier. What a shameless move.
“I…”
Before Vanessa could get a word out, Odie acted surprised. “What? You forgot to send Ms. Sandy an invitation?”
Vanessa’s face grew paler. She and Sandy were close friends. How could she invite the Pollard family to her engagement with Sandy’s ex-fiancé?
Odie had cleverly shifted the blame onto her. In such a situation, Vanessa was speechless.
Watching Odie wash his hands of the matter, Angelo coldly interjected, “Regardless, Sandy is my sister. Mr. Odie, you broke off your engagement with my sister just a few days ago and now you’re getting engaged to someone else. Do you think you can treat the Pollard family like a joke?”
Sophie stared at Angelo for a moment. This tone was much more fitting. She remembered seeing Angelo on Emerging News last time. He hadn’t seemed like this at all.
The atmosphere grew tense after Angelo’s remark.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
