Odie's face was calm as he nonchalantly remarked, "So, Ricardo's strapped for cash and wants a ransom, huh?"
"...Yeah."
"Vanessa's been kidnapped. He should be hitting up Colby for the cash. It was Colby, not me, who promised Mr. Elwood to look after Vanessa."
Odie had initially thought it was something more serious. He loosened his tie and said, "Pack your stuff. We don't need to worry about Vanessa. Someone else will handle her mess."
"But..." Jonah's expression was hard to decipher, making Odie frown. "Is there more?"
"Sophie... she's been kidnapped too."
Odie was visibly skeptical. "Ricardo managed to kidnap Sophie?"
"I heard it myself. Sophie and Sandy are both there. It seems this time Ricardo wants a hundred billion for ransom!"
Hearing the figure, Odie's smile vanished, replaced by a stern look. "A hundred billion? Is he out of his mind?"
Jonah replied, "Boss, desperate people do crazy things."
Sophie, leaning against her sports car, looked bored. She pulled out her phone and said, "Shouldn't I just call Colby? They have already made their calls. What's Ricardo stalling for?"
"Shut up!"

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
