"Opportunity?"
Odie let out a derisive laugh, "What kind of crap opportunity is this?"
They were treating him like a plaything, taking whatever they wanted from the Minton estate and dumping all the blame on his shoulders! He was determined to settle the score with whoever was behind this mess.
"Jonah, get ready. We're heading to Devonport."
"Devonport?" Jonah asked.
A fierce look flashed in Odie's eyes, "To find that snake hiding in the grass and settle accounts!"
Late at night, inside the Burke residence in Devonport, James pushed open the door to his home. He hadn't been back for several days, and the place was covered in dust.
As James turned on the light downstairs, a foul smell wafted down from upstairs. Covering his nose and mouth, he slowly made his way upstairs.
The moment he opened the door to the main bedroom, a swamp-like stench hit him, and a look of disgust flickered in his eyes.
The woman lying on the bed was already withered, her hair dry and yellow, her body as thin as a skeleton wrapped in skin, her eyes deeply sunken, her lips cracked like parched earth, and her body emitted a foul odor.
"Save... me..." Nichole's voice was hoarse and grating, each word draining all her strength.
"Still alive?" James sneered. It seemed Nichole's will to live had been strong these past few days. Before leaving, he'd only left her a bowl of oatmeal and half a glass of water. Somehow, she'd managed to survive on that.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
