Colt never expected James to be so ruthless.
After discovering the body, they quickly noticed the telltale signs. Nichole hadn't been burned to death. She was shot before the fire. And the one who'd do such a thing? It had to be James!
Even though Nichole had been Mrs. Burke before her death, if the Burke family didn't prepare a proper funeral, it would definitely raise suspicions. That wouldn't be good for either the Burke family or James.
"Colt, should we really follow Mr. Burke's orders?"
After a moment of thought, Colt replied, "Let's go back and get Bea's opinion."
Inside the Burke mansion, Bea's face darkened when she got Colt's message. "James is being an idiot, and so are you? Nichole was part of our family, his wife. Even if she was divorced posthumously, her funeral has to be grand. Make the arrangements."
"Yes, Bea."
Once Colt left, Bea called Marian to bring her a mirror. Staring at her tired, aged reflection, a wave of sadness washed over her.
With such an aged face, it was no wonder Caelum didn't like it.
"Marian, do you think I've aged?"
"Why do you ask, Bea?"
"I just feel like my wrinkles have multiplied, my skin's sagging, and my eyes look dull."
Bea sighed, her eyes filled with resignation. To keep the Burke family's enormous estate, she had nearly spent all her youth.
Now, with this appearance, who would find her appealing?

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
