"Thank you for the offer, Mr. Gordon, but I don't think it's necessary. Honestly, whether the Burke family accepts me or not doesn't matter to me."
Sophie set down her glass of water and stood up, heading towards the exit of the Burke Estate.
Gordon asked, "I thought you weren't interested in the funeral?"
"I'm just going to take a look around."
Sophie casually picked up a face mask and put it on.
Nichole's funeral was quite the event, and in the crowd, it was unlikely anyone would recognize her.
Gordon turned to Rick, who was standing behind him, and said, "Rick, give her my invitation."
"Yes, sir."
Rick pulled an invitation to the funeral from his pocket and handed it to Sophie.
Sophie glanced at it, raising an eyebrow. "Mr. Gordon, you said you weren't prepared?"
It seemed everything was ready, just waiting for her to express her desire to attend.
Then, Sophie turned and left the Burke Estate.
After a moment of silence, Rick said, "Sir, it seems Ms. Sophie doesn't want to spread the rumor, so..."
"If she won't spread it, we will."
Gordon's expression remained indifferent.
He had anticipated that Sophie wouldn't be interested in such matters.
She was always unwilling to hurt others and tried to be as accommodating as possible. Such a temperament made her vulnerable. And yet, Sophie was someone who disliked being at a disadvantage.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
