Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 976

Upon hearing that, Odie paused mid-bite into his apple. Pointing at himself, he asked, “You want me to cover her bill? Do I look like her husband? She’s got the wrong guy!”

Jonah replied, “No mistake here. Sophie sent a message saying that device is a piece of junk—it just heats up and does nothing else. She feels duped and is just thankful she didn’t report it to the authorities.”

Meanwhile, over at Burke Estate, Jenna scrutinized Sophie’s face, looking from side to side. “I don’t see any difference. Is this what tens of thousands of dollars in treatments gets you?”

“It’s all about the brand with the Mintons.”

The Minton family’s enterprise in Summerfield was notorious for shady dealings. Who’d trust them to develop beauty products?

Wouldn’t you be scared to use them?

That company exists solely to scam the gullible.

They rely on famous celebrities and high-end advertising, but their beauty products are practically useless.

Jenna clicked her tongue. “If it were me, I’d have trashed their store.”

“Why didn’t you guys invite me for the cosmetic treatment?” Sandy descended the stairs. She’d been bored out of her mind these past few days. Aside from occasionally going out for meals and drinks with Jenna, she had no entertainment.

Sophie had indeed forgotten about Sandy, the heiress. She glanced upstairs and asked, “Ms. Sandy, has Mr. Pei been refusing to eat or drink these past few days?”

“Yeah, my brother says it’s like being under house arrest! He said he’d rather starve himself than stay here.”

“That’s quite dramatic,” Sophie remarked, shaking her head slightly. She then turned to a maid and instructed, “Could you please take two chocolate doughnuts up to Mr. Pei? He loves those.”
