When Sophia returned home, Bonnie pounced at her. "Mommy, I miss you so much."
Sophia squatted down to hold her, pecking her on her cheeks. "I miss you, too, Bonnie."
"Come here, Mommy!"
Holding Sophia's hand, Bonnie led her to the coffee table.
"Look!"
She passed Sophia a piece of paper on which many people were drawn. Squatting, Sophia asked, "Tell me, Bonnie. Who did you draw?"
"This is Mommy, Papa, Grandma Molly, Grandpa Baron, Grandma Laura, Grandpa Abbott, Uncle Travis, Uncle Charles, Uncle Edwin, Uncle Bard, and Aunt Aria. Oh, right. Great-grandpa is here."
She drew everyone in the family without missing a single person.
A child's world was always simple. Even though Bonnie was intelligent, her inner feelings were rather simple.
She only knew to love everyone who loved her.
Since Sophia married Drake, Bonnie had felt more love and loved more people than before.
Holding her, Sophia said, "Bonnie, you are the happiest kid in this world."
Bonnie nodded and echoed, "I agree. I'm the happiest in this world."
When Drake entered the house, he saw Sophia and Bonnie staying together harmoniously, which tugged at his heartstrings. He changed into his slippers and walked towards them.
"What are you talking about?"
Bonnie hurriedly showed him the picture. "Look, Papa. I drew it."
Drake took the picture over and saw a big group of people. Although they didn't look like the real ones, he could tell who they were from their basic features.
"Did you draw them all?"
Strictly speaking, his daughter hadn't turned two yet.
Bonnie nodded.
"Sophia, did she inherit your gift in drawing?" Drake asked.
Sophia chuckled, "She has inherited other gifts from me as well. Probably, she is better at something than I am."
'Maybe Bonnie not only inherits my talents, but also performs better than me.' Sophia thought to herself.
Lifting Bonnie in his arms, Drake said, "I only wish you were happy, Bonnie. I didn't expect you to be gifted. However, since you have a gift for something, you should make use of it well. Don't waste it. OK?"
Bonnie nodded at him, though not fully understanding what he meant. Soon she thought of something and changed the subject, "Papa, Mommy, are you planning to have my younger brother or sister? Just do what you want to do. I won't disturb you."
Sophia didn't know how to answer, looking at Drake subconsciously.
The air that had brought the warmth to Drake earlier suddenly cooled down. The room temperature also dropped abruptly.
"Drake, can you tell me why Bonnie said so?"
Probably, Bonnie didn't realize she had said something inappropriate. And she urged them, "Just go ahead. I can have fun myself!"
Sophia replied, "Eh."
Drake had a feeling that Bonnie was making a trap for him. "Wait, Sophia..."
"What do you want to say?"
Before Drake answered, Bonnie held Sophia's hand and explained, "Mommy, Papa asked me if I wanted a younger brother or sister. I told him I looked forward to one. So Papa said I couldn't interrupt you if I did want it."
