Chloe liked reading the news usually. Besides, since she was pregnant, she had been staying home. Most of the time, she surfed online, so she always got the latest news in time.
While Sophia was reading the news, Lily was right beside her.
"Geez! I only asked you to come shopping with me, but something so ridiculous happened! I'm sorry, Sophia."
"It's alright, Lily. I never take it seriously."
"I'm terribly sorry. Those paparazzi have gone too far. How can they make up stories out of nothing?"
"Wait! Our photos were shot secretly. Let me see who's so bold."
While speaking, Lily looked around.
Sophia tugged her. "Lily, it's unnecessary. The paparazzi have left."
"Really? I should call Rashad and let him find out who it was."
Although Sophia didn't suspect Rashad for the incident last time, she had become cautious.
"Never mind, Lily. I have many foes who want me to lead a miserable life. Just ignore them. Don't worry."
"How could I not be worried? Look what they said about our privacy? They are indeed ridiculous."
In the end, Lily insisted on calling Rashad despite Sophia's objection.
"Rashad, find out who's so hateful to do such a hateful thing. I must teach it a lesson."
"You want to speak to Sophia? OK. I'll pass my phone to her."
Sophia was baffled as she didn't expect them to get her involved in the phone conversation.
However, Lily had passed the phone to her. Sophia had to take it over.
"Hello, Rashad?"
Rashad knew Sophia only considered him as her cousin now, but he had the confidence to change their relationship in the future.
"I've seen the news of you and my mother. I didn't expect to make much trouble for you after returning to Sealand. I'm terribly sorry."
Whenever an incident happened, Rashad and Lily kept apologizing. Sophia didn't have the heart to blame them at all.
"Please don't blame yourself, Rashad. You and Lily haven't done anything wrong. I'm sure my foes have done it. It was my fault..."
Sophia had asked Mia to look for the troublemaker recently. Although Mia was competent, she failed to find a clue.
Therefore, Sophia realized the matter wasn't as simple as she had imagined.
"If we hadn't returned, those paparazzi wouldn't have had a chance to make up stories. Besides, we didn't keep a proper distance from you."
Sophia felt upset. Over the years, she knew Rashad had been bullied because he didn't have a father.
Although he was outstanding, many people talked bad about him behind his back.
Sophia understood he had worked so hard to prove he was something.
However, she could still see that Rashad had low self-esteem.
"No, Rashad. That's not true. We didn't do anything shameful, did we?"
"Sophia, please rest assured. I'll remove the photos soon."
With that said, Sophia wanted to ask him about the video last time but bit back the words at the tip of her tongue after a moment's thought.
"OK."
After exchanging a few words with Rashad, Sophia returned the phone to Lily.
