Revenge On My First Love novel Chapter 533

Chapter 533 Mr. Witt, You Better Call Me Ms. Lawson

Sara took a look at Sophia in surprise and hurriedly nodded to hide her surprise.
Rashad was also surprised when he got the news from Sara that Sophia would visit him, for he thought it would be a long time before she would consent to meet him.
He made a phone call and told the receptionist not to stop Sofia from getting in.
The receptionist was surprised to hear this, as she had never thought of stopping Sophia in any way. After all, it was Mrs. Riley who had married Drake.
What was wrong with this new president?
Sophia came and just nodded to the receptionist as they had known each other pretty well. And then she went straight to the exclusive elevator for the president.
But then she thought of something and walked into the public elevator when it opened.
It was not a busy time for the elevator so there were not a lot of people in it.
And they were all shocked to see her.
Since the Old Riley passed away, the rumors about Sophia and Rashad having an affair hadn't spread online, but people heard of them in private.
They were all secretly checking on Sophia and wondered, 'Why is she here? Is she really having an affair with the new president?'
Sophia was the last one to get out. She knocked on the door when she arrived at Rashad's office.
"Come in!"
It sounded normal.
Sophia pushed the door open, "Mr. Witt, I'm here to talk about the project we are working on."
Rashad raised his eyes at her, who showed up in front of him as a female boss and client.
"Sophia, why don't you call me Rashad?"
Rashad said with tempting tenderness.
But Sophia felt nothing.
"Mr. Witt, you must be joking. We are at work now. And I'm here on behalf of the Skylane Group."
"So, were you also like this when you talk business with Drake?"
Sophia stared daggers at him.
Rashad smiled, probably out of fear from being stared daggers at by her, "I'm just curious."
"Mr. Witt, haven't you heard a story called curiosity kills the cat?"
"I just wanna know, in your eyes, what's the difference between me and Drake?"
It sounded ridiculous to Sophia.
But she was not in the mood for this crap.
She sat down, "I'm here for the business. As for the other stuff, there's no need to talk about it between us."
"Sophia, do you hate me?"
Rashad leaned forward and he was almost about to stand up.
Sophia glared at him, "Mr. Witt, you think you deserve my hatred?"
Rashad felt a bit heartbroken, "Sophia, you treat me even worse than before. I guess you must hate me now!"
"You wanna talk business or not? If not, I'll send Sara here."
Rashad was rendered speechless.
Sophia had made it clear to her that commercial cooperation would henceforth be the only thing between them. And that was not what Rashad was looking forward to.
But he could not continue to annoy her, or she would send Sara over. He did not want that, after all.
They talked for a while about work.
Surprisingly, Sophia found that Rashad had pretty solid ideas about the work project, which was totally different from his previous attitude.
She had been worried that Rashad would ruin the Riley Group but now she realized she had misjudged him as he was hiding his ability and strength.
"By the way, I got another project here, you wanna take a look, Sophia?"
"Mr. Witt, you better call me Ms. Lawson!"
Hearing this, Rashad stopped to look at her.
"Sophia, is this really necessary?"
"I don't see what's wrong with it."
"But we are family. I know you are still mad at me for taking Drake's job. But that's Grandpa's decision, I..."
Sophia made a shush sign as she didn't want to hear more of his disingenuous words and she was also not interested at all.
"Mr. Witt, about the project, we should really just finish the one at hand. And you don't have to worry about the rest."
Sophia stood up and was about to leave.
"Sophia, do you have to act like this?"
Sophia ignored him.
"Sophia, if you act like that because I take Drake's job, I'll give it back to him to get you to talk to me again!"
Sophia stopped in her tracks and turned around to look at him.
"Mr. Witt, you got it all wrong. It doesn't matter to me what Drake is. Actually, I'm fine with what he is now. And I think you know why I act like that."
"And I should leave if there's nothing else."
Sophia then opened the door and walked out after saying this.
Rashad just stood right there, staring in the direction of the door.
He thought, 'Did she suspect that I was actually behind this drugging thing?'
'Or has she found out more about me?'
Sophia didn't have to work at the weekend so she and Drake went out to have fun with Bonnie.
It was a precious fun time for them.
"Someone is selling ice creams there. You want some? Papa will go get it for you."
Bonnie's eyes were just about to light up with happiness but Sophia said something to upset her.
"No ice cream!"
Bonnie then looked like an airless balloon.
"Sophia, don't be so hard on her. Bonnie doesn't get to eat it all the time. It's okay to have it once in a while."
Bonnie looked at Sophia expectantly with the hope that her mother would change her mind.
Seeing Bonnie's pitiful look, Sophia nodded, "Fine, just this time. But you'll get your next one in a few months."
"Okay!"
Bonnie nodded endlessly.
Drake touched her head with love and went to get her an ice cream.
But unexpectedly, he couldn't pay for this.
Sophia and Bonnie were standing there. Bonnie looked at Sophia and asked in wonder, "Mommy, is Papa in trouble?"
Sophia watched for a while, "Let's go check on him!"
People, who were waiting in line behind Drake, asked anxiously, "You wanna buy or not?!"
This was so embarrassing. Nothing like this ever happened to him before. He tried to give the seller his bank card but he then was told that only cash was accepted.
Drake always had an assistant around him to pay for him, so he never brought any cash with him.
He thought of his daughter's expectant face. He knew that his daughter would be very disappointed if he didn't get her one.
"Just make one ice cream for me and I'll go get the cash right now."
Drake was really desperate as he did not have cash on him.
"Sorry, sir. We can't sell on credit."
"No, not on credit. I'll give you cash just in a minute."
"Sorry, we really can't."
