Chapter 549 I'll Do It Myself
"How can you prove it?"
Last time, Molly was almost exposed. Rashad did not want the same thing to happen to Sara.
"Sophia came to my apartment earlier, but I didn't let her in."
"It means she has suspected you, doesn't it?"
Sara panicked.
"Listen. Do not tell her a word about me if you are exposed. Or you'll end up like Molly."
Sara had not known about Molly's affair earlier. By chance, she had heard of it. It turned out Molly was Rashad's pawn as well.
Later, Molly died, and Sara heard Rashad had something to do with it.
She had known Rashad to be nuts before. However, the offer he made was too tempting, so Sara agreed to work with him.
Thinking of that, she was frightened by Rashad, and wondered if she had made a wise decision.
"I... I got it."
"You'd better mean what you say."
Rashad immediately ended the call.
He had hoped that the women would help him. Unfortunately, he could not rely on any of them, as they were too stupid.
Sara still worriedly wondered if Sophia had discovered that she was a spy. Suddenly, the door of her apartment was knocked at.
She shivered, thinking that Sophia had known it and returned to get even with her.
'What shall I do?'
Sara hastily pulled down the curtain, fearing that Rashad has found a sniper to shoot her.
"I know you are in, Sara!" a man yelled impatiently at the door as she hadn't answered it for a long time.
Sara stopped pacing around as she realized it was Travis.
She was excited. Travis had never offered to see her after she came to Sealand. She could not help wondering what had happened today to bring him to her. 'Did Sophia tell him I was sick, so he came to visit me?'
Thinking that Travis cared for her, Sara went to the door at once.
As she was about to open it, she recalled something.
Pretending to cough, Sara answered, "Mr. Lawson, I'm sick. It's infectious. Thank you for seeing me. I cannot let you in."
"Pry open the door!"
"Yes, Mr. Lawson."
Before Sara could realize what had happened, the lock was pried open and several men broke in.
Sara was as panicky as her face was ugly now, for fear that Travis would be sickened at the sight of her.
Instantly she turned away to avoid Travis' gaze.
"Please go out, Mr. Lawson. My sickness is infectious."
Travis sneered, "Infective sickness? If you don't have it, I won't mind making you get infected."
Sara was startled, wondering what he meant.
Standing before her, Travis snapped, "Raise your head!"
Sara immediately covered her face. "Mr. Lawson, I did not lie. I..."
Travis forced her hands down. Off guard, Sara looked into his eyes.
For a moment there was silence in the room. All of a sudden, Sara started screaming.
Travis remarked in disdain, "I didn't see you had infectious sickness."
Sara panicked. "I have it, for real!"
Travis kicked her to the floor.
It hurt so much that Sara's brain went blank.
"Why did you kick me, Mr. Lawson?"
Travis crouched and stared at her. "Why? Don't you know it?"
Sara wondered if he had known she was behind Helena's matter. She denied it, as Rashad had assured her that Mr. Pollard would tell no one.
"I-I don't quite follow you."
"Good. Everyone who says so has done bad things secretly. Somebody! Make her tell the truth!"
A man walked over with a torture device that could clamp one's fingers.
Sara asked in fear, "Why... Why do you have this thing, Mr. Lawson?"
If Sophia hadn't reminded Travis to have some mercy on Sara, he wouldn't have spent much effort looking for such a thing.
"Start!"
Although Sara struggled, Travis' men quickly grabbed her hands and clamped her fingers.
Sara did not know how much strength a man had. However, as soon as the torture started, she cried out in pain.
Sitting on the sofa, Travis watched coldly, as if he had nothing to do with it, looking like a demon.
"Argh!" Sarah could not bear the pain. She yelled, "Please let go of me, Mr. Lawson. Please! Have mercy!"
"You know what you should tell me."
"I know nothing. Argh! I know you do not like me, Mr. Lawson. Why are you torturing me?"
"Go on!" Travis parted his lips and uttered a deadly command.
It was once said that the nerves of a man's finger were connected to his heart. Sara nearly died from the intense pain.
She would not fear death, but Travis did not intend to kill her.
"Still refuse to tell the truth? Let me see how strong you are."
Travis' men increased the strength of the device. They managed to torment her without breaking her finger bones. Sara almost blacked out from the pain.
"I didn't do anything, Travis! What do you want me to tell you?"
"I don't mind doing it personally."
Travis rose and strode toward the torture device. Holding it, he moved mercilessly.
The blood drained from Sara's lips. She was too weak. She giggled as she stared at him.
"You are right. I did it. What can you do? Argh--"
The next second, Travis increased his strength.
"You admit it."
Sara forced a smile on her pale face. "You hope me to admit it. Of course, I will."
"Travis, I'll do whatever you ask me to as long as the request is from you."
"Still unwilling to tell the truth, huh?"
Travis jerked the device forcibly again.
"Argh!" Sara exclaimed.
Travis knew she was different from other women after working for him.
He had never expected the woman he had trained to use those skills to harm his wife.
He realized, however, that the punishment should soon be over. If he continued, Sara might be tortured to death.
"You don't want to admit it. It's alright. I know you sent that bastard to harass Helena. I will not kill you today. Listen. If you dare lay a finger on Helena again, you will not be so lucky as you have been today. You'd better know what I mean."
Travis left with his men.
Sara blacked out.
Sophia called an ambulance to send Sara to a hospital.
Since the hospital had been bribed beforehand, no one called the police.
Rashad could not keep his cool when he learned of the incident. He wondered if Sophia knew he was behind it. Therefore, he sent his spy to watch Sophia, waiting for her next move.
