Rich Radiant and Over Him (Alicia and Vincent) novel Chapter 103

On the other side of the room, the commotion caught Brandon and Tyrone's attention. Along with Vincent, they walked over, concern etched on their faces.

Brandon scowled. "What's with all the noise?"

Alicia couldn't help but feel a pang of pity for Mrs. White. In this house, Mrs. White only ever dared to pick on those beneath her. Aside from Alicia, there was no one else she could afford to cross.

Tyrone stepped closer, his brow furrowed in worry. "What happened?" he asked, voice gentle.

He'd only stepped away for a few minutes, and already Alicia was being targeted. Clearly, he couldn't let her out of his sight for long.

Alicia sniffled, putting on a wounded look as she glanced up at Tyrone. "It's nothing. Mrs. White's right—I don't really belong here, anyway."

Tyrone's expression darkened instantly. He turned his gaze on Mrs. White. "And what exactly is your claim to status in this family?"

Yvonne, leaning nonchalantly against the doorway, shot Mrs. White a mocking smile. "Look who's talking—a woman who married in on the sly, calling others unworthy. That's rich."

Mrs. White looked about ready to explode, her breath coming in fast, angry bursts. "What did you just say?"

Brandon pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly losing patience. "Enough. Go back to your room."

Mrs. White bit back her fury, turned on her heel, and stormed off.

Yvonne gave a small laugh. "Well, since Nicole's coming back today, I'm in a good mood. I'll skip dinner with you all. See you." She blew a flirtatious kiss at Tyrone, winked, and sauntered out.

The moment she was gone, Reginald let out a sigh of relief. "Finally. Now, everyone, please take a seat—I have an important announcement."

The family gathered around the table as Reginald glanced at Vincent. "Since Vincent and the Lawson family are here, they can serve as witnesses."

Vincent gave a subtle nod.

"Nicole is the sole heir to the White family. Everything we have will one day belong to her." The old man's words rang out, pointedly directed at Jade and Brandon.

Both Jade and Brandon looked stony-faced but held their tongues. When they first returned to the White family, they'd sworn to the old man that they'd never covet a single cent of the family fortune. But who could resist such enormous temptation?
