Tyrone had no idea that Alicia was already planning her escape. He just huffed in his usual stubborn way and sat down on the sofa. "I'm heading back to Harboridge City tomorrow."
Alicia blinked in surprise. "But… didn't we just get back?"
He was leaving again? So, the whole point of this trip was just to drop her off? She must be overthinking it...
Tyrone didn't offer any explanation. The truth was, he needed to see his father.
What Jade and Nicole did to Alicia—he wasn't going to let that slide.
Alicia hesitated, then, a little shy and a little hopeful, asked, "So… tonight… are we…?"
Tyrone couldn't help but laugh softly. He reached over and ruffled her hair. "Do you think I'm that much of a brute?"
She was still hurt…
Alicia made a small sound, her heart racing. Who could say no to a man who paid her three million a year? With that much money on the line, feelings or not, it didn't really feel like a sacrifice.
That night, Tyrone really didn't touch her. He simply wrapped his arms around her and held her close until morning.
At first, Alicia couldn't sleep. With Tyrone's arms around her, she could hear the steady beat of his heart.
He seemed to really like holding her like this…
Was he truly not interested in women at all? What about Serena… had they ever slept together? Did he ever hold her like this?
Lost in these muddled thoughts, Alicia drifted off to sleep.
When she woke up the next morning, Wilma was back, and Tyrone was gone.
He'd left Felix behind to look after her and keep her safe.
Alicia had expected that, as soon as Tyrone left, Jade and Nicole would pounce at the first opportunity to cause trouble again. But, surprisingly, the house was peaceful. Jade and Nicole kept unusually quiet, no drama, no petty games.
