Sean Quinn had spent eight years in the military, and the commanding presence he carried made Yvonne swallow nervously.

Then Yvonne had walked in, bold and direct with her flirting, and he’d felt like a rookie tossed into a game with a seasoned pro. She’d teased him, reeled him in, and then tried to move on to her next target. But Sean wasn’t about to let her go that easily, and for years now, he’d kept her close—even if she refused to make things official.

“Maybe we should have a child,” Sean’s voice was low and rough.

Yvonne wasn’t having it. She’d always been clear—kids weren’t in her plans. Working in show business, nearly forty, she was in no mood to gamble with her own body for something she didn’t want.

“You think I’m some twenty-year-old naive girl desperate to have your baby?” Yvonne shot back, giving him a sharp kick. “If you want kids, go find someone younger.”

Sean fell silent for a moment, then pulled Yvonne into a kiss, his fingers tightening around her jaw.

She could sense his mood had shifted. “Is your dad on your case again about settling down?”

Sean wasn’t exactly young these days either. He was three years younger than Yvonne, but thirty-five wasn’t far off from her own age.
