Rich Radiant and Over Him (Alicia and Vincent) novel Chapter 294

Tyrone’s Apartment

Alicia had already fallen asleep when Tyrone slipped quietly out to the balcony. The city hummed softly below, neon lights flickering in the distance. He leaned against the cold iron railing, flicking his lighter open and closed in a restless rhythm.

His phone vibrated. It was his assistant.

“Mr. Lynch, Easton agreed to join the international program. But so far, he hasn’t made any move to get close to Nicole. There’s no sign of any ambition yet.”

Tyrone’s gaze turned distant, unreadable in the dim light. He said nothing, the metallic click of the lighter echoing in the silence.

The assistant hesitated, then lowered his voice. “Should we… take care of Easton now? Remove the risk before it grows?”

With the resources at Tyrone’s disposal, making Easton disappear—or at least ensuring he’d never become a threat—would be almost effortless in Seaview City.

But Tyrone didn’t seem interested.

“Leave him alone.” His tone was low, a cigarette dangling from his lips as he lit it.

His grandfather was an old fox, never fully trusting Tyrone. No doubt he suspected Tyrone might try to get rid of Easton, so he’d planted a minefield of warnings in advance.

“Did your grandfather… threaten you, sir?” The assistant’s voice was barely above a whisper.

Tyrone gave a noncommittal grunt. He’d never imagined the day would come when his own grandfather would turn against him so openly.

Earlier, before Tyrone had gone to pick up Alicia, Maddox had called to say Easton had agreed to the international program. Maddox had also said the boy had potential, and asked Tyrone to look after him—a not-so-subtle way of saying: I’m grooming Easton now. One day, he’ll take your place at Lynch Corporation.

His grandfather had gone out of his way to remind Tyrone that Alicia needed time to recover before trying for another child, that rushing things would only harm her. But the real message was clear: If Alicia could lose one child, she could lose another. As long as Tyrone and Alicia had a child before Easton inherited the company, the old man would find a way to get rid of it.

Tyrone let out a short, bitter laugh. So this was how completely the mask had come off.
