Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 656

Chapter 656

"Where's Pierre?"

As far as Nicole was concerned, Pierre inhaled quite a bit of the sleeping agent he had tricked her into inhaling. She also had the presence of mind to wait till Julian rushed over before she lost her grasp on her consciousness as she passed out.

"Julian took him away. When he awakes, you can interrogate him. Once you're done, we'll drag him to the police station."

Colton lowered his head as he regarded Nicole, who was desperately latching onto his sleeve with whatever strength she could muster. She was weak, to begin with. Therefore, the sight of her propping herself up on the bed and anxiously pulling his sleeve with a pale face tugged at his heartstrings.

At this moment, she looked helpless and pitiful, which was one of the rare times she was so open with her emotions. He couldn't help but feel a little heartache when he saw her like this.

"Relax. I'll take care of the rest. Have a good rest. I'll bring you some soup," he reassured her gently as if he was comforting a child.

She sluggishly thought over his words, nodded, released her clutch on his sleeve, and lay back on the bed.

At the Phoenix Residence, Felicia and Jansen were up in arms. She even grabbed the photo and threw it on the floor. Her entire being shook with barely contained rage. "This is ridiculous! What a shameful disgrace! How dare he?!"

Jansen looked equally enraged. Back then, Emily suddenly brought a man home and insisted on marrying him.

At that time, Douglas had a terrible reputation. It was rumored that he liked men. So, they naturally assumed that Douglas was using Emily as a beard to ward off the rumors. Naturally, they vehemently disagreed with their daughter's decision.

Alas, Emily was pig-headed and refused to listen to reason. Despite her parents' disapproval, she married Douglas and gave birth to a daughter.

Even though Felicia and Jansen disliked Douglas, they compromised for the sake of Emily and her daughter and did not force them to divorce. Nevertheless, they always pulled a long face whenever they saw him.

After all, he was the one who urged Emily to marry him. He was poor and pathetic, so he did not deserve to be with her!

And now, they received photos of Douglas walking together with a woman! They even spent the night in the villa!

Felicia and Jansen had never trusted Douglas, so they always sent someone to watch over him. Over the years, he had been behaving well, but he went too far this time!

"We must tell Em about this! I want her to divorce this prick!" Felicia bellowed angrily. She would never allow Emily to be wronged in such a way! Emily was so nice to him, but he betrayed her!

Jansen was furious, but he held his temper. Emily was their only daughter, and the Phoenix Family was influential worldwide. They would not allow themselves to fall for such trickery!

"Don't tell Em about this. She'll be sad when she finds out." Jansen wanted to kill Douglas right there and then, but Emily and their granddaughter were at the top of their priorities.

On the other hand, Felicia wasn't in a good mood. Douglas had an affair despite being married to Emily! This kind of jerk did not deserve to be with Emily!

"Do you want to keep Em in the dark for the rest of her life? No! We must end this mess immediately! They'll get that divorce even if it's the last thing I do!" Felicia swore.

Jansen narrowed his eyes and looked at the couple in the photo. Douglas was locked in an intimate embrace with a woman. He wouldn't believe it if someone told him there was nothing between them.

"He'll have a trade fair in a few days, right? I'll ask him about it. If he really cheated on Em, I would kick his *ss!" Jansen growled furiously. The Phoenix Family were not pushovers, and they would have their due!

Felicia slightly reigned in her temper after hearing his words. She pondered over his words briefly and nodded. "Okay, let's do that. I would not let him off the hook if he truly cheated on Em!"
