Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 682

Chapter 682

Whitney's tone was quite heavy, and she spoke word by word. As soon as she stumbled over the last few words of the sentence, she began to choke back tears. "Douglas, I'm not asking you to let me go. I just hope that you can let my brother go. I was the mastermind behind framing you back then. It has nothing to do with my brother."

Since she had cashed a substantial amount of company assets for her own use, she would be suspected once the company went bankrupt and an investigation was carried out. She was destined to be unable to escape prison. If her imprisonment could be exchanged for Douglas' forgiveness, she was willing to bear it.

"When you framed me back then, have you ever thought of my family? The rumors back then overwhelmed our entire family. Did you think about letting us go?" he prompted.

Whitney was at a loss for words, not knowing what to say. Her expression was somewhat melancholic. Clenching her fists, she knew how much he hated her, but there was nothing else she could do now.

"I'm sorry."

He sneered, "It's too late to apologize now!"

Not knowing what to say, Whitney fell silent. After shoving the check into Douglas' hand, she turned on her heels and left.

As Douglas stared at the crumpled check in his hand, a mix of feelings flooded him. He knew that if he accepted the money, an investigation would be carried out once Campbell Corporation went bankrupt. As soon as they discovered what she had done, they would certainly throw her in jail without a shadow of a doubt. Scrunching the check in his hand into a ball, he threw it on the floor. The money didn't matter to him at all!

Sasha was transported to the hospital by ambulance, and although Harvey provided her with emergency treatment to stop the bleeding, she still needed to undergo immediate surgery because the bullet had become lodged in her bones. Therefore, the signature of the patient's family was required on the surgery report.

Colton couldn't leave this place, so he could only call Harvey to ask if he had found Nicole.

"No. I've searched around, but I didn't find Ni… Miss Nicole. Don't worry; perhaps she went into hiding after finding out a shooting had taken place."

"Keep looking for her and call me once she's found," urged Colton.

After giving the instructions, he called his own men. In order to find Hayden back then, he mobilized most of the members of Wolf, so only a small number of them remained.

"Find me the leader of Undercity. I want to talk to him face to face!" he ordered in a hushed voice. Undercity usually carried out their missions after getting paid, so he wanted to find out who on earth wanted to take his life!

"Yes, sir."

As more time passed inside the room, the ambiguous vibe became increasingly intense, and the two people inside the room gradually lost rationality.

Nicole placed her hands on Zachary's chest, and seeing the almost lustful expression on his face, she stretched out and slapped him hard. "Wake up, Zachary!"

His entire body was numb, and he began losing his mind after inhaling an excessive amount of drugs. Zachary couldn't help but have the urge to pin her down and take advantage of her. He glared at Nicole with bloodshot eyes and used the strength of a man to push her down.

She felt queasy too. She felt the heat emanating from Zachary's body, and her legs started to weaken.

"Snap out of it!" Nicole struggled to break free from Zachary's embrace, but her wrist was clasped tightly, making her unable to get out of his grip.

He had been completely conquered by desire now. After that, he pushed her down on the bed, rubbed his lips against her cheek, and began to move downward, little by little.

She quivered at the touch, unable to control her body anymore due to the effects of the drug. As a result, she could not push him away.

"Nicky, I want you." Zachary glanced at her and muttered with bloodshot eyes.
