Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 719

Chapter 719

"Okay," said Nicole. "Please send him straight to the police station. I trust I do not need to tell you what should be said or done?"

She stared into Adam's eyes as she spoke.

It was his first time being threatened by someone. Despite the smile on his face, the bulging veins on his forehead were a clear indication of his rage.

"Of course," he replied. "We will have a satisfactory answer for you in time."

Those words were spitted out through gritted teeth.

Now that business was done, Nicole saw no reason to linger any longer. She immediately stood up.

"Thank you," she said. "I still have matters to attend to and have to go now."

She left as soon as she was done speaking. Colton curiously glanced at the documents Adam had slammed on the table face-down. Just what information did it contain? How was it a threat to Adam?

Nevertheless, he merely glanced at it and did not ask Adam anything. He then followed Nicole out of the room.

Colton waited until they were out of the restaurant before stepping closer to speak to her.

"What was in that document you handed to Adam?" he asked. "He caved in so quickly."

Nicole stood still and pursed her lips upon seeing the eager glint in his eyes, after which she pointed to her head. "There are many things that need to be filtered through here first," she answered. "What else did you think I was going to do today?"

He silently chuckled. He had thought she wanted to meet with Adam to find the truth. When he heard her demand for one of the snipers, he had been contemplating offering a higher price if Adam was unwilling to hand a sniper over. He did not expect her to threaten Adam.

"My men had tried looking into Adam before, but we could not find any weaknesses."

That was the reply Colton eventually gave.

Hearing that, Nicole started walking again as she explained what the information was.

"There is actually nothing much on those papers," she said. "Undercity once took a job involving a royal family. It was a very discreet job that not even Undercity's people can look up anymore."

When Hayden started hacking, he stumbled upon the information when he accidentally got into Undercity's servers. He had saved a copy of the information, and when he heard Undercity was targeting her, he sent her a copy of the information.

While the organization was a very powerful group with deep roots, they would be in trouble the moment royalty was involved.

The organization had killed a prince. If that royal family found out about the job, they would never let Undercity be free.

That family was extremely rich due to the many mines they owned. If Undercity publicly fought against them, they would be facing a terrible time. The entire group might even be killed due to the fighting.

"Still, you could get your hands on that information." Colton could not help but reevaluate what he knew of her.

"My son found out about it." There was a proud look on Nicole's face when she said that.

When he heard it was Hayden's doing, he immediately started spouting off praises. "As expected of my son," he declared. "He is so smart!"

Adam was a man who worked quickly. The meeting happened in the morning, and the sniper was delivered to the police station in the afternoon. Soon, the police issued a statement about finding the true killer of the Clancies.

Nicole seized the chance to also report the accounts that had been spreading false rumors about her. The hostile comments on the internet instantly vanished, and it was a friendly space to her once more.

After the clarification, she was now free of all suspicions.

When Noah heard the news, he sought her out. His eyes were red when he met up with her. His entire being radiated with distress.

"You said Undercity killed them, so why would someone confess to the crime?" he asked.

She smiled. "That man is a member of Undercity."

He froze. He had not expected someone from Undercity to turn themselves in to the police.

Afraid that he would split hairs over what happened, she elaborated on her answer.

"Yes, Undercity killed your teacher, but the mastermind behind the crime does not know yet that the man in jail is the sniper who fired the shot. Everything is finally over now."
