Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 743

Chapter 743

Nicole paused briefly before resuming her smooth stride.

As soon as Olivia saw Nicole and Colton entering the room, she leaped up from her seat. She stared intensely at Nicole.

Then, she spat, "Well, it's been a week. Found anything?"

Nicole's throat ran dry at her piercing stare. She turned to look at Benedict, who was still seated comfortably. She parted her lips and managed to gasp, "Old Mr. Benedict."

He slowly lifted his head and studiously gazed at her.

Nicole considered her words for a long time before saying, "I found the complete video. The person who really hit and killed Old Mrs. Gardner was William."

Her voice sounded calm and unruffled. However, a careful listener would be able to pick up on the tremble and sorrow in her voice.

Before Benedict could get a word in, Olivia strutted over to Nicole and slapped her.

Nicole took this blow without betraying any reaction.

Olivia had shown no restraint at all, as Nicole could clearly feel the stinging pain on her cheek. It was like Olivia had branded her with the force of her blow.

Olivia glared at Nicole ferociously. Her eyes were burning with anger as she clenched her fists and snarled, "Nicole! I knew your family was the one behind this! I knew it!"

Her shrill voice pierced Nicole's ears, but she chose to leave this accusation unanswered. After all, what could she say?

Colton watched as Nicole didn't bother defending herself under Olivia's far-from-tender mercies. Therefore, he stepped forward and placed himself in front of her protectively. He squeezed Olivia's hand in warning before she could land another blow.

Finally, he said firmly in a tone that suggested that he wouldn't budge on this issue, "Aunt, you've already hit her. That's enough."

Olivia watched incredulously at the way Colton leaped to Nicole's defense. This made her blood boil, and she became even more infuriated.

She shook off his hand and roared, "Colton, you're the ones who did the investigation. The person who killed my mother was her father! What else is there left to say?"

Nicole remained silent as she weathered Olivia's harsh words.

She looked away from the floor and fixed her eyes on Benedict as she said, "My parents have been separated for a long time. However, Willian Anderson is my biological father. I can't deny that. So, I will take full responsibility for this tragedy."

Grief flashed over Benedict's features. Finally, he closed his eyes, seemingly choosing not to face this harsh truth.

Far from being assuaged, Olivia's anger burned even hotter as she shot off, "I don't care if it's your mother or your father. Your family is behind my mother's death. That's all that matters to me!"

She suddenly stopped and turned to look at Colton.

She intoned in a somber tone, "Colton Gardner! So as her grandson, you're still standing up for the murderer's daughter? Well, if you want to be with her so badly, then get out of the Gardner Family. We want nothing to do with you!"

She had gone to great and tiring lengths to invite the older generation of the Gardners to the family home. They were there to apply pressure on him.

She refused to believe that he would throw aside his family for a worthless woman like Nicole.

Nonetheless, Colton held Nicole's hand firmly and stared calmly at Olivia. Her threat didn't faze him; he knew she had come prepared.

"I suggest that you don't trouble yourself over who I choose to be with. Nicole's parents have been divorced since she was a child. Her father cheated on her mother. As far as I'm concerned, the blame for this matter lies squarely on William Anderson. Nicole has nothing to do with it."

Colton swept his cold gaze across the elders gathered in the room. He was unintimidated by their posturing as his voice remained steady.

Olivia snorted, "Even if she broke off her relationship with William, she still has his blood flowing through her veins. That b*stard ran over my mother and killed her. I will never let an Anderson step foot into the Gardner Residence. If she wants to be part of our family, she'll have to do it over my dead body!"

Colton was about to say something when he saw Anna sitting in a corner, shaking her head.

He remained silent as he slowly pulled Nicole toward Benedict.

He asked lightly, "Grandpa, we have the truth now. The one responsible is William Anderson. What do you plan on doing?"
