Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 766

Chapter 766

Colton turned around and left the room after he spoke and didn't give Nicole a chance to explain. Nicole could finally relax after he left. She then turned around to look at Betty who was lying still on the bed, before looking downward at her toes. In the end, she merely kept quiet and didn't say a word.

Soon after Colton contacted the professional medical team, a group of them turned up in the ward in no time. However, due to Betty's condition, the medical team would like to treat her at their medical base since it was better equipped. Hearing that, Colton was quiet, and he merely looked at Nicole.

Nicole pursed her lips and agreed to the suggestion after a brief contemplation. "Sure," she said. They're professionals, after all, so their base would be better.

Given Betty's current situation, it wouldn't be helpful to let her stay at the hospital, as it wouldn't help much with her condition. After getting Nicole's consent, the team of medical experts immediately left with Betty.

After the whole team left, the ward was now left with Colton and Nicole.

At the same time, Nicole didn't feel like being alone with Colton. She raised her gaze to look at him and pursed her lips as she thought of an excuse to leave. "President Gardner, I'm thankful for what you've done today. I shall take my leave, as there's something that I need to take care of at home."

However, before she could leave the room, she was stopped by Colton. He narrowed his gaze as he looked at her coldly, smirking while stretching his arm to block her.

"Why? Are you burning bridges now? I just did you a favor, and now you're trying to distance yourself from me?"

Hearing that, Nicole pursed her lips and blinked before answering him softly, "President Gardner, it's not it. I do need to take care of personal matters."

As Colton listened to her, he stared at her and finally replied with a smile, "Is that so? Well, I've been missing Hayden, so should I visit him? Why don't I go back with you?"

Nicole was startled by his response, and her face turned pale. Colton would see Zachary with Hayden if she brought him back. She clearly remembered when Colton warned that if he ever saw both of them together, he would not let it go.

She didn't want things to go that way. Thus, she raised her gaze to look at him and asked again, "President Gardner, what is it?"

Seeing as to how she had given in, Colton couldn't help but smirk. "I had been busy the whole day for you. Shouldn't you at least buy me a meal?"

As she looked at him, she felt relieved that he didn't come up with some unreasonable request. Since Colton had been a great help to her, she was willing to buy him a meal.

"Sure, let's go to the newly opened restaurant at Orchard Road." Nicole's gaze landed on the floor.

"Sure." Colton smiled as he agreed, which came as a surprise to Nicole, as she thought he would come up with another outrageous request. She wasn't expecting him to be that agreeable.

With that, Colton left the room, and after taking a few steps, he looked back and noticed that Nicole was still standing there. He couldn't help but grin. "Is something wrong? It's lunchtime soon, so we can make it for lunch. Come on."

After a brief pause, Nicole immediately went up to him and walked behind him. Colton kept quiet and led the way. Just like that, both of them kept quiet as they walked until they got into the car. Nicole wanted to drive to the location, but Colton refused to let her go there in her own vehicle.
