Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 921

Chapter 768

Noticing no signs of rejection from Colton, Evelyn smiled and sat beside the man after spotting an empty seat next to him. Upon taking a seat, she acted as if she had just realized Nicole was there and turned her head to look at her with a smirk. "Oh, you're here, Nicole. I was so busy talking to Collie that I didn't realize your presence."

This lady's smile is making her look like a b*tch! Nicole wondered to herself with a smile on her face. Could she be the 'legendary' angelic b*tch?! She then looked up, appearing calm without any signs of anger or frustration. "No worries. Just pretend as if I'm never here and focus on the person you've been dreaming of seeing," Nicole calmly replied.

In the face of Nicole's indifferent attitude, Evelyn seemed unhappy. After all, she thought she could intimidate Nicole with her presence, but much to her surprise, the latter reacted so calmly that it made her look like a clown. At the thought of that, she clenched her fists and stared at Nicole, who only smiled back at her without showing much interest in interacting with her.

"Did you come here to dine with Collie, Nicky? This restaurant is new, and the food here seems pretty good."

At Evelyn's words, Nicole looked up and shot a gaze at the former before she took her eyes off her. "You're from the great Wrenn Family, while I'm just nothing more than an ordinary civilian. Thus, I'm afraid it may not be appropriate for you to call me 'Nicky'." After that, Nicole paused for a second as something seemed to cross her mind. "Furthermore, I don't recall you and me ever getting this close, so maybe you should call me 'Miss Anderson' or 'Nicole', Miss Wrenn," she added.

Evelyn was irritated by Nicole's witty reply, but since Colton was around, she was forced to restrain herself from throwing a tantrum. Thus, she only gritted her teeth and replied, "I guess you're right. You don't deserve to be my bestie either". Nevertheless, Nicole only chuckled in an unconcerned manner without taking Evelyn's words to heart at all.

Meanwhile, Colton, who seemingly couldn't stand by and watch the sarcastic exchange of replies between the two ladies, glared at Evelyn coldly. "I'm busy right now. So, please excuse yourself."

Evelyn was stunned when she heard from Colton that he wanted her gone. However, she quickly tried to play on the man's sympathy by putting on a bitter expression on her face, gritting her teeth while staring at him. "But Collie… I just wanted to see you…"

Before Evelyn could finish her words, Colton cut her short and asserted his dominance, giving off an intimidating aura. Then, he fixed his stony gaze on Evelyn and warned her. "I could call Gabriel to pick you up."

When Colton made himself clear, Evelyn was frightened because she secretly sneaked away from home. If Mom and Gabriel find out about this, they're going to bite my head off. At the thought of that, she clenched her jaw and forced a brittle smile. "Oh, yeah, my friend is still waiting for me next door. Anyway, I only came here to say hi to you, Collie, so I guess I have to go now." As soon as Evelyn finished her words, she stood up and walked away.

After Evelyn was gone, Nicole turned her attention to Colton and chuckled. "How could you be so mean to her? Didn't you notice the sympathy in her eyes when she looked at you?"

However, Colton looked Nicole in the eye and explained emotionlessly. "I'm not like any other men who would say yes to any woman that woos them. I'm loyal to my love." The man's words were ambiguous.

Wow! He's pretty blunt with his words, isn't he? Nicole's face turned slightly pale as she didn't say anything much after that. In the meantime, Colton also didn't say a word more as he went on to enjoy his meal as if nothing had happened.
