Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 959

Chapter 959 Stop Pestering Douglas

The rain was getting heavier by the minute, pitter-pattering on her office window.

Emily only recently found out about the affair between Douglas and Whitney. It turned out that the woman who had caused Douglas to become what he was years ago was Whitney.

She admitted that she was a selfish person. Although Lucy was not Douglas' daughter, Lucy would feel sad if he left her. After so many years of getting along, Lucy had long regarded Douglas as her father, not to mention the fact that the child's biological father… had already died.

At the thought of this, a coldness appeared on her face, and she said in a cold voice, "Miss Campbell, I already know about you and Douglas, but since you broke up seven years ago, I hope you two will not have any further contact. After all, he is now my husband."

Her cold words were like an invisible hand, tightly squeezing Whitney's heart, making it difficult for her to breathe.

At this moment, Whitney had an awkward smile on her face. Only after a long time did she slowly utter a few words hoarsely. "I know. Don't worry, Miss Phoenix. I only have what the Campbell Family owes him. There's nothing else."

Hearing that, Emily glanced at the woman sitting in the chair. She had been with Douglas for around five years, but the intimacy between them was limited to hugging, and it was only when Lucy was present. There was no other affection between them; they were just like two familiar strangers, terrifyingly innocent.

Although she knew that she was selfish, she didn't want her daughter to lose her father.

"Very well. I know that Campbell Corporation has gone bankrupt, and you have embezzled funds. Once this matter is pursued, you will definitely go to jail." She looked at Whitney with a stony gaze.

When Whitney heard that, she forced a bitter smile. It seems like this matter is no longer a secret. With so much debt, I'm afraid I'll spend the rest of my life in prison after the company's liquidation is completed. "I know," she replied in a low voice.

"I will help you clear all your debts, but on one condition—you must stay away from Douglas forever and never appear in front of him again. I will also try to find a way to get your brother out of prison." Emily proposed her condition.

Instantly, Whitney was taken aback. She had only thought about going to jail to make up for Douglas, so she hadn't considered anything else. Her fist, hanging by her side, slowly clenched. After a while, she softly said, "You don't have to do this, Miss Phoenix. I brought this upon myself."

When Emily heard that, she squinted her eyes, thinking that Whitney still couldn't let go of Douglas. She paused for a moment before saying, "Think about it carefully. I'll give you time to consider. You're still young, in your 20s. This amount of money is enough for you to live in prison for the rest of your life. There's not just Douglas in the world, Miss Campbell. It's not necessary to sacrifice your entire life's happiness for a man."

After finishing her words, she took out a business card from her bag and placed it on the table before turning around and leaving.

Whitney looked a little lost as she stared at the business card on the table with empty eyes. Suddenly, she let out a low, sad chuckle. I'm an outsider. Everyone despises me.

She looked at the empty office and suddenly stood up. After glancing down at the business card, she put it in her pocket and left the office.

The land here is likely to be mortgaged soon. She looked up at the pouring rain outside and walked out without hesitation.

The rain outside was heavy. Within seconds of leaving, the pouring rain had covered her view and made her have a hard time opening her eyes. Instantly, the cold rain soaked her clothes, and she felt chilly across her body.
