Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 961

Chapter 961 Douglas’ Child

Whitney was perplexed. Never would she have thought that she was pregnant. At that moment, her heart dropped, and she felt a shiver surge through her body. "I-I'm pregnant?" She had a complicated look on her face, finding it hard to process the sudden information.

Aaron nodded and intoned, "You had a fever last night. We were on the way back, but out of nowhere, you blacked out. After taking you to the hospital, the doctor discovered your pregnancy." As he spoke, he stared at her deeply. After some time, he asked, "Who is the father, Whitney?" For all these years, he had never heard her mention being with anyone.

When Whitney listened to his words, she looked down and touched her lower abdomen. Although her belly was flat, she knew a fetus was inside. This is Douglas and my child. We have a child together…

She trembled at the thought of it. Thinking about it, she turned to Aaron, requesting, "Stay out of this, and don't tell anyone about it, Aaron." As she spoke, she caressed her belly, seemingly like the child was a spark of light in her dark life.

Mixed emotions filled his eyes when he heard her words. To be honest, it wasn't hard for him to guess who the father was. After all, Whitney had only fallen in love with a man. Hence, by the looks on her face, he was sure as to who the father was. He has a family, though. That means… Whitney is a home wrecker…

As he thought about it, he asked aloud, "Whitney, is the kid's father Douglas?"

Whitney was shocked by his words. She didn't believe that he would have guessed it. However, she didn't admit to it and changed the subject. "I'm going back in a few days, Aaron. Don't worry about the company's debts. I'll think of something."

She couldn't go to prison now since she was pregnant! With how much money she had and Emily helping out, she could pay off the debt. Although she knew it was despicable of her to do so, she had no other choice.

"Have you thought it through, Whitney?" Aaron was excited.

After all, Whitney had wanted to be in jail to make up for her resignation. Thus, he was surprised that she seemed to have second thoughts about it.

"Yes. I am pregnant. I need to think for the sake of my child," she said as she looked down. Although she didn't mind being in prison for the rest of her life, her child didn't deserve this. It wasn't born yet, and a whole new life was still waiting for it. She couldn't let her child have a mother who had been to jail.

When Aaron heard her words, he fell silent. Then, he asked warily, "Are you going to keep the baby, Whitney?"

Whitney smiled bitterly in response. This was a child between Douglas and her. She didn't want to let it go, nor could she do so. After all, she was so in love with him. Thus, now that she was bearing his children, she would definitely keep it.

She hummed in response.

Aaron said nothing more and thought, On the bright side, at least she gives up the idea of going to prison. I think it's fine if she keeps the baby. With that, she will be able to have the will to live.

Nicole never expected Whitney to come back. After all, during their multiple calls in the past, Whitney was depressed, thinking the only way to make it up to Douglas was to be imprisoned.

At that moment, Nicole couldn't get her to stop thinking about it, so she was pretty surprised that Whitney had thought things through now. However, she had no spare time to think about it since she still had to deal with Hayden's matter.

After helping Whitney to find a place to stay, she asked, "Did you settle everything with your family?"

"Yeah. I have given everything back to Douglas. The Campbell Family has nothing against him anymore." For unknown reasons, Whitney felt relieved when she mentioned Douglas.
