"You don't have to be shy, Nicky," Colton whispered gently, a teasing glint flashing across his black gaze. "I've seen everything, anyway."
That angered Nicole. "Get lost!" she yelled as she gritted her teeth and looked viciously at him.
Colton couldn't stop himself from smiling at that. Seeing Nicole's fierce appearance, he did not insist and said instead, "Call me if you feel sick."
He was about to leave after he said that, but Nicole stopped him.
"Colton."
The tall man paused for a moment before he turned his head.
He was dressed casually today, with his silky, black hair on his head in no particular style, giving him a meek appearance.
"Yes?" he asked.
Nicole blinked her eyes, her lips pursed tightly. Then, as if she had made up her mind, she raised her head to look at him and questioned, "Are you being so nice to me only because I'm carrying your child?"
Colton had been treating her with exceptional gentleness these few days, which made Nicole feel uneasy.
Colton, on the other hand, laughed as he looked at the woman resting on the bed. He walked to her with his dark gaze fixed on her face. After a few beats, he murmured slowly, "Such a heartless person you are, huh? Is that who I am to you? Wasn't I nice to you in the past?"
Nicole was taken aback. She expected him to become enraged, which was why she was surprised that he could still speak to her in such a lighthearted manner.
Thus, she pursed her lips and laid her head against the bed frame, unsure about what to say.
She put out her hand on her stomach, dazedly staring at the ceiling. Is Colton treating me so well because he loves me?
Nicole had originally thought that she would never fall in love again. All she wanted was to raise Hayden well and then go into a more behind-the-scenes role in her job, but what Colton had said earlier moved her and her fondness for him grew.
As she tried to suppress her emotions, she pursed her lips slightly and decided not to ponder about it.
After resting on the bed for a while, Nicole finally sat up after some struggle. Though it was cold outdoors, she felt uncomfortable going to bed without taking a bath.
Hence, she stood up and went to the bathroom. Looking at herself in the mirror, Nicole found herself looking haggard, and the evenly distributed muscles she had appeared to be slightly loose, possibly due to her pregnancy.
Seeing that, she couldn't help but pinch the flesh on her body. They were mushy and soft to the touch.
She trained herself every day to maintain her form when she was in F&M Apparel previously. However, when she returned to the country, she was so preoccupied with everything that had transpired that she couldn't find any time to exercise at all. Furthermore, with her pregnancy now, she indeed found herself gaining weight.

The readers' comments on the novel: Right Person, Wrong Time
What a waste of reading! This could have been an excellent novel if it hadn't skipped chapters after 531 and then everything is garbled. Get your act together if you still want a reading audience!!!...
