Chapter 989 A Call From Siobhan

Colton held Nicole in his arms and kissed and cuddled with her for quite a while. When he learned that she wanted to keep the baby, his face melted into an even tenderer expression.

At 11.00AM, however, he kept glancing down at his watch as though something was preoccupying him.

Nicole had a vague feeling that he seemed to be hiding something from her. Nevertheless, she said nothing at the sight of his serious face.

At a little past 11.00AM, he finally stood up, feeling Nicole's belly for a long time before withdrawing his hand reluctantly. "I've got to go to my office to handle some stuff. Just stay at home with peace of mind and call me right away if there's anything," he said with his head lowered.

Seeing the concerned look on his face, Nicole let out a snort of laughter and replied with a wave of her hand, "Alright, just go and finish dealing with it before coming back."

Colton simply looked back at her with each step he took before he left.

Nicole was bored sitting alone after lunch, so she couldn't help but start yawning again. Feeling sleepy, she opened her mouth and was just about to take a nap when Siobhan suddenly called. After darting a glance at the caller ID, she answered the phone, asking, "Madam Gould, is there something you'd like to talk to me about?"

Siobhan paused for a moment before asking, "Nicole, could you come to the hospital right now?" She sounded rather firm, as if something serious had happened.

Nicole reached out and touched his forehead. She realized that the warmth on her palm wasn't scorching—the boy didn't seem to have a fever.

Feeling the palm on his forehead, Hayden opened his eyes in a daze. When he saw Nicole, his eyes suddenly lit up. He grabbed her wrist happily, asking in a sweet, childlike voice, "Mom, why are you here?"

Instead of saying much, Nicole merely said, "I miss you, so I came to take a look."

Hayden grabbed her palm and replied seriously with a maturity beyond his age, "Mom, I'm fine, so you don't have to come here. Dad told me that you're not feeling well and need some good rest."

Nicole couldn't help but feel her heart ache at the sight of how mature her little son was. Stroking his soft, black hair, she said with a smile, "It's okay. I'm feeling much better now."

The mother and son then chatted for a while with Nicole by Hayden's bedside.

Perhaps because he had taken medicine, Hayden started feeling sleepy soon afterward. Only then did Nicole turn around and leave. However, she felt that something was odd. Siobhan had called her just now, saying that she had no choice but to call her because Hayden was having a fever. But now, not only did she not find any sign of Siobhan, but Hayden wasn't having a fever either. So, what was the purpose of the phone call?
