Penny was flabbergasted upon hearing that.
She couldn't help blurting, "But the Lindberg's are going against us. We don't have any celebrities and the reporters won't be conning. How are we going to host the event under these circumstances?"
Nathan grinned and informed, "I will handle the celebrities and the reporters. You girls don't need to worry about anything. Just have our people get ready. Everything will go on as scheduled."
Penny's eyes bulged. She sounded worried when she said, "Nathan, the Lindberg's are messing with us, and no celebrity would risk offending the Lindberg's, so they won't come to our event. Moreover, the media outlets would not come in fear of the Lindberg's, so how can you get any reporters?"
Nathan grinned, "I have my ways. Spread the news. The Cross Group's event will take place at twelve o'clock as scheduled." Penny hesitated. If we fail, we would be the laughingstock of the Lindberg Family as well as the rest of the business community.
Nathan stared at Penny. He grinned while teasing, "What is it? Don't you trust me, honey?”
Penny looked into Nathan's eyes and saw the determination and faith in them. She finally nodded. “Alright, it'd be embarrassing if we mess up, but with you here, I am not scared."
Nathan smiled and promised, "Don't worry, I won't mess it up, and I definitely won't embarrass you, my sweet honey."
Penny brought Peggy and Jenny to the site where the event will be hosted.
Grace, Terrell, a few top managers of Cross Group, and the employees of the hotel gathered around.
They asked, “President Smith, we heard that the celebrities and the reporters won't be coming. We can't host the event like that, so should we cancel it?"
Penny held her hand up to have everyone quiet down. After that, she announced, "Don't worry. The celebrities and the reporters will be here, and everything will go on as scheduled."
"Everybody hurry. We have a lot of reputable guests coming, and the reporters will be here soon. We can't afford to mess things up."
Everyone was suspicious about it, but they listened to Penny's instructions.
